Is the Campground
open all year round?
Yes the Campground is open all
year round! Due
to the cold weather the water at the campsites is normally
turned off November 1. If seasoned weather, we try
to keep the water in the full- hook up area on until
Thanksgiving.
Does HERSHEY Highmeadow Campground have package deals?
Unfortunately, we do not have any packages available. Discount tickets for HERSHEYPARK and DUTCH WONDERLAND are available for purchase.
What time is check-in and checkout?
Check-in is after 3 PM. Check-out for cabins is 11 AM and 1 PM for campsites. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate late check out request for sites and cabins.
An additional fee will be charged for early check-in for arrivals prior to 1:00 PM,
If the site is available. Sites may not be available for early check-in due to previous reservations.
What is there to do around the area? There are too
many things to list!
Hershey’s location is ideal for exciting day
trips to the many cultural, historical, educational
and entertainment attractions in nearby Harrisburg,
Gettysburg and Lancaster. So, while in Hershey, stay
and play an extra day at exciting and memorable regional
attractions, such as DUTCH WONDERLAND Family Amusement
Park in Lancaster or the battle fields in Gettysburg.

How far is it to Lancaster and Gettysburg from Hershey?
Lancaster
is approximately 40 minutes away. Gettysburg is approximately
1 hour and 15 minutes.
Do you offer group rates?
Yes, for youth groups and scout troops. Prices
are $7.50 per person per night from May 1 through September
5 and $6.50 per person per night for the rest of the
year. These rates are for tent camping with no hook
ups. These rates are not available for groups with
camping vehicles. The youth group rate does not apply
to cabins
Where is a nice place to eat?
Hershey offers a variety of restaurants, from acclaimed
gourmet dining and award-winning wine selections,
to casual family fare and late night snacks. A list
of area restaurants is available at the registration
office or visit DiningInHershey.com.
Do you allow pets at the campground?
Pets are not permitted with guest's who are staying
in our rental cabins or staying in tents. They are
not permitted in the pool area, or any public building.
We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but experience
has shown us that this rule is necessary for many reasons.
Quiet pets are permitted with the following restrictions:
All pets must be kept on a leash not to exceed 6’ at
all times. Pets must not disturb or post a danger to
other campers. All pets must be well behaved and quiet.
If there are any problems, we will ask you to make
other arrangements for your pet, or leave the campground.
When your pet is outside it must be supervised at all
times. You must clean up after your pet. If you plan
to visit HERSHEYPARK, their day kennel,” The
Barking Lot " is available for a small fee. The
operating hours coincide with the Park schedule. A
carrier case is required for boarding the shuttle bus
with your pet.
Do you allow more then 1 tent on a site?
We permit
one family and one camping unit per site. An additional
tent for the registered camper's
immediate family only will be limited to one per site.
Immediate family is defined as unmarried children under
21 living with parents. An additional tent may be used
only with prior approval from the registration office.
Does the campground have a late checkout time?
You
will need to check with the registration office.
You are welcome to stay beyond the check out time;
however, Guest must move their RV to the Crestview
Area (no hook-up). Extended time is only good until
6pm. If later, campers must purchase another night.
Sorry there is not late checkout time for cabins.
Does the campground have early check-in times?
Only if the reserved campsite is available. An early check-in fee will be charged for early check-in prior to 1:00 PM. If the site is not available, campers may put their RV in the Crestview Area until check-in time.
May we put a tent up in the Woodland Area (Full-hookup)?
Sorry,
tents are not permitted in this area.
What is the cancellation policy?
We require 10 days
notice to cancel; 30 days notice for groups of 20 or
more. A refund will be given on cancelled site reservations
providing appropriate notice has been received. A handling charge of $12.00
per site will be deducted from any refund issued and
a one night’s deposit will be charged for any
cancellation with less than 10 days notice.
What time does the Laundry room open?
The laundry room
is open 24 hours a day and is located at the barn.
Does the Campground have activities?
Yes, we do have
activities in the summer but we do not have an advanced
schedule.
When can we make reservations for the next year?
The
Campground is currently taking reservations for 2008 & 2009.
Does the Campground have seasonal sites?
Sorry, we
do not have seasonal sites available.
Does the Campground apply any discounts, such as
AAA or Good Sam’s?
At this time we do not apply any
discounts.
CABINS
How many do your cabins sleep?
There are beds for 4 people in the rustic and log cabins. The extended log cabins sleep 8. Our rates are based on up to 2 adults and up to 2 children, we allow up to 6 people in a rustic or log cabin and up to 8 people in an extended log cabin. Cot rental is available at the registration office.
Are there restrooms in the cabins?
There is no inside
plumbing in the cabins, however restrooms are located
near all of the cabins.
What is in the cabins?
The rustic cabins include electric, heat/air conditioning,
a double bed and a bunk bed, dresser, camper refrigerator,
microwave, breakfast bar, ceiling or wall fan, porch,
grill, and picnic table and cable. No indoor plumbing.
The log cabins include electric, heat/ air conditioning,
ceiling or wall fan, a double bed, bunk bed or two
single beds, dresser, camper refrigerator, microwave,
breakfast bar, porch, grill, and picnic table and cable.

with 2 double beds with a single bunk bed over it,

What is the difference between cabins?
The rustic cabin is a one-room paneled cabin with a
wood floor. All rustic cabins have a double bed and
a set of bunk beds. The log cabin has a wood floor
and comes in two different layouts. The one-room layout
has a double bed and a set of bunk beds; the cabin
with the extended room has a double bed and two single
beds. The extended log cabin has a separate bedroom,
with 2 double beds with a single bunk over it, and
an additional bunk bed. The extended log cabin has
a wood floor.
Do the cabins have a fireplace or heat in them?
The cabins do not offer a fireplace. The cabins do have heat.
What time is check-in and checkout time for cabins?
Check-in
is 3 PM and after. Checkout for cabins
is 11 AM.
Does the Campground have a late checkout time for
cabins?
Sorry there is not a late checkout time for
cabins.
Does the Campground have cable TV in the cabins?
The cabins do have cable, you must bring your own TV.
Do the cabins have air conditioning?
Yes.
SPECIAL EVENTS
When is Girl Scout Camp-O-Ree?
Girl Scout Camp-O-Ree is
always the first two weekends in June. For reservations for Camp- O- Ree please
call 1-800-242-4236. The campground is closed
to the public at this time.
When is the Antique Automobile Show?

Does the Campground have any scheduled activities
for Halloween?
Yes, we have a lot of activities here
at the Campground. We have campsite decorating, costume
and pumpkin decorating contests, trick or treating
for all our ghosts and goblins, and we have some games
for all ages.
HERSHEYPARK
How far away is HERSHEYPARK?
Approximately 1.5 miles.
Is transportation available to
HERSHEYPARK?
Yes, we have a shuttle bus when HERSHEYPARK
is open to the general public.
What are the shuttle bus hours and how often does
it run?
The shuttle bus runs every 20 to 30 minutes
depending on traffic. It starts 1 hour before the Park
opens and stops running 1 hour after the Park closes.
Does the campground sell HERSHEYPARK or DUTCH WONDERLAND
tickets?
Yes, we sell one day admission tickets to HERSHEYPARK
and DUTCH WONDERLAND at discounted prices.
When you stay at the Campground are HERSHEYPARK tickets
included?
No, HERSHEYPARK tickets are sold separately.
Is BREAKFAST AT THE PARK included when you stay at
the Campground?
No, to participate in BREAKFAST AT THE PARK you would
need to make reservations
in advance. There is an additional charge for this
event. Reservation for this event
can be made through the Campground by calling 1-800-HERSHEY
(437-7439).
Does HERSHEYPARK allow pets?
Pets are not permitted inside the HERSHEYPARK for
their safety and comfort and the safety and comfort
of other visitors; however, we do provide a pet kennel
with limited accommodations called the "Barking
Lot", located under the
West stand of the HERSHEYPARK Stadium. There is a daily
charge of $8.00 for the kennel service. The hours
of operation are 10:00 AM until 1/2 hour after the
HERSHEYPARK closes. Water will be provided.
If you wish to have your pet walked or fed, you would
need to leave the Park and take care of that personally.
The "Barking Lot" does
not require proof of shots or vaccinations. Animals
are maintained in separate cages a total of 35 from
small to large sizes. The Barking Lot is air conditioned.
- No privately owned pet crates are permitted to
be brought inside the Barking Lot. Pets must use
Barking Lot cages.
- Reservations are NOT accepted... first-come, first-served.
The Barking Lot will take ANY pet - just FYI. They've
been known to keep snakes, ferrets, Guinea pigs
in addition to cats and dogs.
There are 35 cages available. Occupancy is not usually
a problem.
- The Barking Lot is open during HERSHEYPARK Special
Events - Halloween In Hershey, HERSHEYPARK CHRISTMAS
CANDYLANE, and SPEINGTIME IN THE PARK.
- The exception to this rule would be the specially
trained guide dogs for vision or hearing impairments.
NOTE TO AGENTS:
The Hearing Ear Dog is easily recognized by the bright
orange collar and leash, used by the owner. These
dogs are of no special breed.
For overnight, or extended boarding check under AREA
FACILITIES/ SERVICES / KENNELS to provide guest with
information on local kennel facilities.
